Oil Painting Brushes for Procreate

This month we bring you the Oil Painting Brushes.

This set contains 50 Oil Painting Brushes, which are great for imitating the traditional technique of Oil Painting in Procreate. You have a great variety of brushes depending on the specific style you want to imitate. You can see all the brushes in this video:

The 50 brushes are divided into different groups, let us explain how they work:

• Oil: This set of 8 oil brushes is the core of the set, which contains a mixture of brushes with very different opacities, ease for blending, edges, dryness and intensity. Some of the brushes throughout this brushset are named “Colour” and they allow you to select two separate colours, which are pressure-sensitive depending on the shade you are after:

  

• Thick: 8 different brushes that vary in smoothness and texture. These are called thick brushes because they give the effect of thick paint on your canvas. The strokes overlap with each other and they do not blend as much as the oil brushes. You can see these brushes below:
  

  

• Canvas: This set of 8 canvas brushes provides a canvas texture, which means that a texture paper is not required when applying the brush-strokes:
  

  

  
  
• Expressionism: When we talk about oil paintings in modern art, expressionism is one of the artistic movements that comes to mind immediately. We have constructed this group of brushes to help you to create more chaotic and bold illustrations:
  

  

• Impressionism: Another artistic movement, which comes to mind quickly when thinking about oil paintings is impressionism. These brushes allow for smaller, more-visible and generally thinner brush-strokes:
  

  

• Background: As part of the digital oil painting technique, the background is really important and these brushes are constructed with the aim of quickly setting up a backdrop for your illustrations that do not take away the emphasis from the main design:
  

  

• Blending: Good blending brushes are really important when using oil painting brushes! There are two separate blending brushes in this set, which provide respectively a canvas texture blend and a soft blended feel.
